This month we have a full batch of regulars and a few newbies as well. The most notably odd newbie is our answer to Associated Press's recent snippet which appeared across the country in various publications. This feeble attempt at hipness was generated by two journalists as they traveled across this great country of ours and chronicled a few of the "weirder" pit stops along the way. Having taken this journey several times myself I felt they were really lost on this one and decided to instigate a call-to-arms. With the help of my friend Henry Warwick and his email list of co-conspirators and common criminals a group of us managed to compile a guide of what we feel is truly "weird" in the American pit stop genre. So - the AIM travel supplement is born, authored by a group rather than an individual. Cut and paste, cut and paste, cut and paste.
Also in the travel category is the recent trip, over Labor Day Weekend, to the Black Rock Desert for the Burning Man event. Your humble editorial staff at AIM packed up an RV and went out to the desert in style. After wallowing in 4 days of intense heat and long nights of lunacy, dyke assaults on blow up dolls, piles of burning pianos, Bloody Marys and powdered soup (and lets not forget stupidity - after all this is America) we have returned. Most all of the alkali desert dust has been coughed out of our lungs and we are showered and clean - now to get that video camera serviced. A full review/report of the adventures at Burning Man has been included in this issue a well.
Thanks again for tuning in and joining us for the merriment that is Auricular Immersion Media. As always we welcome submissions for future issues: articles, fiction, reviews, rants, raves, art, meanderings and psychotic ramblings.
