• Our mirror of the Heaven's Gate Web Site can be found here: Heaven's Gate. It is unedited and appears in it's entirety including the full text of the Heaven's Gate book in both html and downloadable .zip formats.

  • The postings to usenet newsgroups by a couple Heaven's Gate members can be found here: Usenet Newsgroup Posts. Contrary to what the media indicated they were not recruiting voraciously over the web through the newsgroups. These posts appeared very few times in very few newsgroups. You can research this information yourself through Deja News. We are still hunting and scavenging for more.

  • Chuck Sharmek's site can be found here: Chuck Shramek's Hale-Bopp Comet Web Site. Unfortunately Chuck has been the brunt of misplaced blame and ridiculous assumptions by the press and the public. Mr. Shramek had photographed a strange object near the Hale-Bopp comet but he was not the first. He was also not the one that claimed it was a spaceship. Oh...the Heaven's Gate group didn't necessarily believe this either. All you have to do is read the first paragraph on their homepage to realize this.

  • Art Bell is a radio talk show host and boy has he spoken to the nutcases. Alot of his guests make the 39 people involved with Heaven's Gate seem perfectly sane. In any case his web site chronicles not only information on the Hale-Bopp comet "companion object" but a million and five other completely absurd points of interest. Vist his web site at: Art Bell's Web Sit.

  • Hmmmm.......a long time ago this batch of folks could have easily been considered a cult. Oddly enough their web site was launched the same week that the Heaven's Gate Away Team took to their spaceship and zoomed off to a better life. Visit the The Vatican Online and see what they have to say. After all some of those old time prophets saw UFOs (see Ezekial) and quite of few of the followers of Christianity have also met their death and achieved martyrdom in the name of their religion. It is certainly curious how the only thing that separates a cult from a religion is a long span of time.

  • AIM staff responses to Heaven's Gate Suicides is a link to several comments I received via email from a select few of AIMs staff with regard to the mass suicides. The responses are quite different in each case and fun to read.

  • Yes Virginia there is a T-shirt for all of this. Some of the sicker folks at AIM decided it would be nice to have the commemorative T-shirt and thus formulated the new unofficial line of Heaven's Gate Inactivewear. Get it now....

  • No news media frenzy is complete without its own official parody or tongue in cheek presentation. AIM has strayed away for the most part from the obvious black humor that can creep up so easily from this story (it is just TOO easy). However, a few other websters have set up the Heaven's Gate Black Humor Site. This is pretty fun stuff.

  • The Heaven's Gate Interactive Timeline. What more can you ask for. This is well designed and informative timeline. I guess the Washington Post is good for something. Keep in mind we have not scanned the entire contents of this site for mistakes and misinformation yet. There is a lot of info here!!
