Brook Hinton performed approximately 30 minutes of wonderfully layered, rich noise and synthesis. The sound is actually great on this as we were fortunate enough to have the sound feed directly from the board to the video recording. Look closely around the store during the performance and spot members of Big City Orchestre, Foundation for Public Broadcasting, Waste Inc., Nux Vomica and more.
Part I - Part II - Part III
A video process generated by Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica primarily used as a backing video projected on multiple screens during live performances. This particular clip was synched up with audio from tne Spindal Alpha release, one of the earlliest nux Vomica releases in 1990.
The only video effect used to generate this piece were slow motion and mirror image effects, everything else is entirely analogue and creatd during the video taping process.
The audio for this video was "generated" by taking the sound of treated pianos and "feeding" it to SoundHack, a sound file processing program for the Macintosh. Spectral analysis of Klavier Hack was exported from SoundHack and then treated and manipulated to create the following video piece entitled "Spectral Klavier" by Alan Herrick.
