Spindal Alpha is primarily a collection of low frequency atmospheric layered sound distortions with a lot of metal being beaten mercilessly in the distance. Fascinating to listen to. It has an ominous , somber feeling to it. There is order to the noise, carefully planned orchestration of found object used as percussion elements which held it together. I suppose this is one of the things about Spindal Alpha that I found appealing. As you listen, you might imagine yourself as a worker in a metal salvage yard on a cold, overcast day, or inside a steel mill, slaving over machinery with no relief in sight from the hard labor. At times the low frquency pulses become almost hypnotic. If you are fond of the Hafler Trio, this cassette from Nux Vomica would be an excellent addition to your collection.
