Nux Vomica and Voice of Eye will be performing together for the first time in 13 years (since their live shows and collaborations in 1994). For the first time, since the famous OJ Simpson car chase, Nux Vomica and Voice of Eye will be bringing their unique blend of experimental, ambient soundscapes to the same stage. Both bands have recently reunited and this marks the start of the Voice of Eye European tour with no other performances planned in the Bay Area. Also in the works is the release of some of the over 14 hours of recordings which the two groups collaborated on 13 years ago in the Bay Area. Also performing on the same bill will be Asia Nova and Ure Thrall.

Voice of Eye has reunited after eight years for a 2007 European tour. Their performance incorporates handmade instruments specifically designed and built for this tour: the Jeemna-mini, Bass Thing-mini, Fucking Thing-mini and the original Squawk Box; in addition to Guitar, Flute and Voice. All sound sources are acoustic in origin, then processed through little black boxes to warp time and open the listener's perception. Voice of Eye's sound shifts from gentle soundscapes to primal wrenching malevolence with such ease that the listener is unaware of the transition until it is too late and they are fully immersed in the voyage.
A new two-part CD series is released for this tour. For Emergence and Immersion, Voice of Eye return to the authenticity of improvisation to capture the immediacy and vitality of each moment. This exploration creates a dialogue of shifting states. Because of their long silence and life journey, they are now touching a creative depth they could not reach earlier. Emergence and Immersion are a challenging migration between exquisite peace and dark mysterious depths.
Voice of Eye formed in 1991 out of the ashes of experimental bands Esoterica Landscapes 7 and Cruor. Through Voice of Eye, members Bonnie McNairn and Jim Wilson explored profound aspects of consciousness. The music is shared as a tool for entering different states of consciousness. In the beginning music was the only modality this expression assumed.
This process transformed in 1997 from the medium of music into building an off-the-grid sustainable home and studio in the high desert of New Mexico. The process would take the next ten years. The result is a complete sculptural free flowing work of art built entirely by the hands of Jim and Bonnie. It is the largest work of art either have achieved. Living in the open and empty spaces of the desert had the additional effect of deeply connecting them to the truth of their being begun through music. The desert is the fire that burns away everything. Both members are now focused on the healing arts.
Presently, Jim and Bonnie have returned to recording and performing music with a fresh perspective. Their journey has transformed what was begun through music into a way of life.
